Finally, Another Breadwinner

Mactire, aka Mac or Big Mac, managed to become a Grand Master Herbalist last night at the tender level of 63. His Inscription is somewhere in the vicinity of 320.

I'm not an alt person, but the possibility of having another 80 with two professions that have the potential to make money is a pretty cool thought.

Ever since I created him, his questing area has been different from his farming area. After stalling his leveling and grinding his gathering, that's not the case anymore. As long as he's in Outland his gathering level is high enough to pick up any herb he comes across and, given the node density of herbalism, leveling Inscription should be relatively painless.

He's already started making money with Inscription. It's not much, but with people leveling alts, dual-speccing, etc, I don't see the market drying up anytime soon. I've sold a Death Knight glyph or two for almost 30 gold which, given the cost of the mats, is a huge profit margin. Considering Misneach's ammo business isn't what it used to be, this will be a nice supplement.

Mis sent him almost 1,500 gold to get his flight training and the Skeletal Gryphon (which I had to have), so I really want to make that back using Mac's professions. Shouldn't be that hard at all.

After Mac makes it to 80, I'll have to get to work on Nabaisti, who has been sitting at 300 skinning for ages even though he's still in his 40s. He needs an epic ground mount and will be begging Mis for the cash for flight training soon, too.

Alts are like kids when it comes to begging for money, aren't they?

Keeping Up With the Mages

I mentioned to Nibuca on Twitter a couple of weeks ago that I wasn't a big fan of hanging around Dalaran because the stuck-up Kirin Tor Mages look at me like I'm typical Elwynn white trash.

Well, I've pushed myself to the limit trying to rise above that stereotype. I've not only worked my fingers to the bone as a Dwarven-trained Miner, but I've also learned the fine art of Engineering from our Gnomish allies.

And what do I have to show for all the backbreaking work and long nights studying?

With a little luck hunting down the schematic and Cheesi's assistance in acquiring the materials, I've got a butler.

Yeah...a butler. And he's frickin' rocket-powered.

There you go, Dalaran. Take your fancy floating city and stick it.

Lousy High Elves

So I spent some time with Cheesi picking out a new graphics card for her and installing it on her machine. We're now both rockin' 1080p. I can even see Mis's bald spot.

I logged in for about an hour last night. No lag issues, but I did have a queue to deal with. No biggie.

Bought the new Nelf mount that I'll never ride, learned the new Engineering schematics, and headed up to the AT grounds to see this fancy new Coliseum that I helped those lazy Goblins build by chopping down trees and blowing up blocks and such. The Goblins may not spend a lot of time celebrating your assistance, but they pay well.

I wandered about and picked up the dailies as well as the quest to go to the Black Knight's grave. I didn't do any of the dailies but considered at least continuing the saga of Misneach kicking the crap out of the Black Knight...until I saw that one person was doing the quest and there were about 5 people flying above the grave site waiting for their turn. To heck with that. He'll still be dead tomorrow.

And then I found the Silver Covenant Quartermaster. I've been exalted with these guys for a while and finally have somebody who's willing to offer me items of immeasurable power as a reward for my loyal and dedicated service.

So what do they have for me, a champion of the Silver Covenant? A weapon imbued with the arcane mastery of the High Elves? Armor to shield me from the magical attacks of the Scourge and the Cult of the Damned? A trinket sautéed in magicawesomesauce?

Nope. Some livestock and a tabard.

Seriously?

...

I suppose I can at least try to chuck the horse at Arthas or something.

Anyway, Ratshag posted a wonderful rant about the Call of the Crusade. Go. Read. Laugh.

Misneach out.

I Am An Arms Dealer

Fitting you with weapons in the form of Mammoth Cutters.

I threw my hat into the ammunition market this weekend and made a nice chunk of extra income. Selling the aforementioned Mammoth Cutters and Saronite Razorheads is significantly more profitable than simply throwing saronite bars up on the auction house, and if you spend enough time doing dailies in Storm Peaks and Icecrown you'll end up swimming in the stuff.

The Razorheads require 15 saronite bars for a box, which creates two stacks with a thousand arrows each. The Cutters only take 6 saronite bars per box, but you'll have to also throw in some cobalt and crystallized water for the Volatile Blasting Triggers. Either way, you're making money.

On Bloodhoof, saronite bars have been going for about 20-30g per stack. One stack of a thousand arrows or bullets will go for 20-25g. Since you're getting multiple stacks of arrows or bullets per stack of saronite, the extra couple of minutes spent at the anvil adds enough value to give you a nice profit margin.

Beyond the monetary gain, I also had the satisfaction of knowing that somewhere, some hunter was pumping a raid boss full of Misneach brand ammo.

Now I know how Nicolas Cage felt.

Long as the boss gets looted that's just the bidness I'm in.
