Honestly, leave the whelp alone - let him grow up in his own time, maturing and blossoming at his own rate. Don't put pressure on him to be something he's not, you'll just give him issues. Didn't you read Whelp Parenting for Dummies before you got him? :)

@Jederus: True. I've gotten at least that lucky so far. Tickbirds, cobras, now this. Can't really complain.
@Tamarind: I expect my non-combat pets to live up to their full potential whether they want to or not. I'm like a non-combat pet stage dad.
